A Day in the Life of a PBC Sheriff

Four Oxbridge students were invited to shadow the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and given behind-the-scene access to the facilities.

Four Oxbridge students were invited to shadow the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and given behind-the-scene access to the facilities. Accompanied by teachers Sheri Viggiano and David Childree, students Jordan Belfer, Merissa Chu, Sean Kelly, and Henriete Purina began the day in the forensic lab where they learned about ballistics, fingerprints, latex prints and DNA testing. Then they toured the prison and its juvenile, general population and mental health floors. After lunch, it was off for a jaunt in the helicopter. Merissa and Henriete along with Mrs. Viggiano flew to the Jupiter Lighthouse and over Oxbridge, while Jordan, Sean and Mr. Childree flew over the ocean. The students were selected for their interests in law enforcement careers.
