Citizenship Project brings comfort to 500 children in foster care
Last week, Lynn University freshmen packed 500 Comfort Cases with blankets, notepads, stuffed animals and essential items for children and teens entering foster care. The initiative was part of the university’s January Term(J-Term) Citizenship Project, in which students participate in hands-on activities and classroom discussions related to community and civic engagement.
Students heard from Robert Scheer, founder of Comfort Cases, before setting out to pack the cases. On Friday, students delivered the bags to local foster care organizations, Child Net and Best Foot Forward.
