According to the filmmakers, the film “…explores the intertwined forces of home-life and school-life on children,” focusing on the story of a once-promising student who ended up being imprisoned for murder.

The film examines the student’s circumstances that led to his situation, and through interviews with the student and his teachers, investigates how the student ended up as “one that got away” from a positive life trajectory.

Following the screening, Dr. Avossa will lead the panel discussion to examine the interlocking forces of home, school, and street life and its impact on children.
