Courtney Lovely Named to NCAA Division II Management Council
Palm Beach Atlantic’s Courtney Lovely has been selected to serve on the NCAA Division II Management Council. The announcement was made during the annual NCAA Convention held this past weekend in Indianapolis.
Lovely – who serves PBA as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, Senior Woman Administrator and Title IX Deputy Coordinator – has been at PBA since the fall of 2015. In addition to those roles, she serves as a sport administrator for six sports at PBA as well as oversight of the athletic training department and strength and conditioning as well as all business operations.
“It is an honor and privilege to be selected to serve the NCAA Division II membership in this capacity and to represent Palm Beach Atlantic University and the Sunshine State Conference,” Lovely said. “I am looking forward to working with this dynamic group of Division II administrators and faculty members to influence the experience of current and future Division II student-athletes.”
The Management Council directly reports to the President’s Council in the NCAA Governance structure. The group is comprised of athletic directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representatives and at least one conference administrator.
“Courtney Lovely is a significant campus leader at PBA and this national appointment is recognition of her top-tier talents,” Palm Beach Atlantic President William Fleming stated. “She will represent both PBA and the Sunshine State Conference extremely well, with a constant focus on the student-athlete’s experience.”
This group recommends administrative policy and regulations that govern the division as well as reviewing and acting on recommendations from the Division II committee structure and from Division II representatives to committees with Association-wide functions.
“Courtney has been a tremendous asset to PBA during her time here and I am excited for her appointment to the Management Council,” said PBA Director of Athletics Carolyn Stone. “She will be an advocate for the student-athlete nationally as she has been across our campus and she will be a great representative of PBA and the Sunshine State Conference.”
