Gospel Recording Artist, Entrepreneur, Noted Preacher to Speak at Fall Commencement

Dr. Marcus Davidson, senior pastor of New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, will be the featured speaker at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Fall Commencement at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9 at The Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds.


PBA’s fall commencement is open to graduates and guests who hold tickets. More than 200 candidates for bachelor’s, master’s and professional degrees from the West Palm Beach, Orlando and online campuses will participate in the ceremony. The first graduates of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program are among those who will be honored.

Dr. Davidson is a gospel recording artist, entrepreneur, noted preacher, pastor and teacher. In addition to his church, he also is president and CEO of PMD Ministries, Inc, offering seminars, lectures, workshops and curricula focusing on leadership. Dr. Davidson has served and continues to serve in the community on various committees and organizations.

An Alabama native, Dr. Davidson received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering technology from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. He later entered Heritage Bible College in Huntsville, Alabama, where he received his Master of Biblical Studies degree. He received a Master of Divinity degree from the Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Additionally, he studied at Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas, and the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology, Kingston, Jamaica in the West Indies. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree with an emphasis in Black Church Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. His doctoral project was “Developing Church Members into Ministry Leaders.”
