New Features Welcome Returning Students
A new school year comes with new features to campus. This summer, Palm Beach Atlantic has completed many renovations and construction jobs on campus, along with new features in academics and noteworthy accomplishments.
Rinker Residential Hall underwent renovations updating 10 suites with new floors, bathrooms, lighting and furniture. This completed the project, which began last summer when eight suites were re-modeled.
The first floor of the Rinker School of Business had a partial renovation installing new flooring. The rest of the first floor is planned to be finished next summer.
PBA looks forward to the grand opening of the John & Sheila Rinker Sports Center. The first floor encompasses a lobby/reception area, staff offices, student work area, academics/team meeting room, strength and conditioning room, conference room with kitchen facility, six locker rooms, official’s locker room, treatment room, laundry room and equipment storage room. The second floor will have a hospitality room with more kitchen facilities and two outdoor terraces. The dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 14.
Palm Beach Atlantic athletics has now become a full member of the Sunshine State Conference. PBA has been a provisional member of the SSC for the past three years. Now that the Sailfish has accomplished full membership, it will open many doors for the athletic teams.
New features in academics include a new major in behavioral neuroscience and a concentration in franchising within the business school.
Minor renovations and refreshes to campus consist of installation of lockdown safety features to classroom doors, the refinished floor in the Mahoney Gymnasium and painting and new lighting on the second floor in MacArthur Hall.
