Passing the Torch: Dr. Fennoy Takes Helm as Superintendent
An exchange of a name plate may seem like a small gesture, but it signals a big change for the School District of Palm Beach County as Dr. Donald E. Fennoy II takes over as the Superintendent.
With the change in command Dr. Fennoy now leads more than 193,000 students across the District, and reminds its employees to remember that it is important to care for the students both academically and emotionally.
“Kids are successful in public school when they have an adult they can connect with and they can trust,” Fennoy said.
The School Board approved a six-year contract for Dr. Fennoy during its meeting on Wednesday, March 14 and a private swearing in ceremony was held behind closed doors.
A formal ceremony is planned for the April 4 Board Meeting.
