December 2017

Victoria Estevez, a senior at Forest Hill High School, was surprised by the school’s cheerleaders, school administrators, and Take Stock in Children representatives as she was awarded at $40,000 Leaders for Life college scholarship.

Estevez is the primary caregiver to her two siblings, her 95-year-old great grandmother and grandmother who has cancer while also managing to maintain a 4.21 HPA, giving 500 hours in community service time and serving as the captain of the school’s tennis team.

As a member of Forest Hill High School’s Medical Science Academy, she hopes to use the scholarship money to attend the University of Florida.
