Sports Hall of Fame Welcomes Softball Alumna

Mari Treverton ‘12, a standout for the Palm Beach Atlantic University Sailfish softball team, will be inducted into PBA’s Sports Hall of Fame during Homecoming weekend.

 Along with former men’s soccer player Joseph Yurchak ’09, Treverton will be honored at the Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, November 11, at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach. The event is one of the highlights of Homecoming weekend. For information, visit www.pba.edu/homecoming.

Treverton, an exercise science major with a concentration in physical education, was a three-time NCCAA All-Region selection was well as a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-American. She played in and started all 201 games in her career as a Sailfish playing as a middle infielder and centerfielder, and helped lead the team to the 2009 NCCAA National Championship.

She now resides in Port St. Lucie, Florida with her husband Kenny – whom she met at PBA during her junior year and married in 2015. Treverton teaches physical education in the St. Lucie County School District where she's been since 2013. In her first year at Manatee Academy in 2013 she was awarded the Outstanding First Year Teacher award.
